The moment you step inside, the warm, spacious interior envelops you with a sense of homeliness and tranquility—perfect for unwinding from the bustle of the seaside. This deeply caring approach shines through in every detail from service to the food itself.
The Bluebird Tea Rooms impress with a diverse menu that balances traditional favourites with allergy-conscious and vegan options. Classic dishes such as the full English breakfast come brimming with perfectly cooked sausages, crispy bacon, baked beans, and golden toast. For lighter moments or a midday treat, the cream tea—served with freshly baked scones, clotted cream, and jam—is a must-try, pairing wonderfully with a lovingly brewed pot of tea.
Dessert here is nothing short of sublime. The carrot cake and chocolate orange cake offer moist, richly flavoured bites, while the honeycomb golden nugget cheesecake provides an indulgent and unique taste experience. For ice cream lovers, generous tubs of Ben & Jerry's—from the classic Chocolate Fudge Brownie to the irresistibly gooey Cookie Dough—are also available to cool and delight your palate.
Families will find The Bluebird Tea Rooms particularly accommodating. The children’s menu is full of comforting favourites—think succulent chicken fillet bites with crisp chips, cheeseburgers, and even a dedicated children’s breakfast—all offered at very reasonable prices. This attentiveness to young guests’ needs makes the tea rooms a true haven for family outings.
Drinks are just as thoughtfully selected, ranging from nostalgic CapriSun varieties perfect for kids, to artisanal Fentimans botanical sodas like dandelion and burdock or ginger beer, and classic fruit juices. For those seeking something dairy-free, the dairy-free latte has earned praise for its rich, creamy texture and robust flavour, highlighting the establishment’s dedication to catering for all dietary requirements.

SUPERB 10/10 If you're looking for high-quality food that carers to all tastes, this little tearooms fits the bill. The owners instantly make you feel like family and serve exceptional food and drinks. Vegan-friendly, gluten-free options and relaxing atmosphere. We had delicious vegan breakfasts and tasty jacket potatoes alongside kid's portions of sausages, beans, and chips. The best tearooms in Essex. Highly recommended!

My first time visiting this quaint little restaurant, the ambiance is perfect, no loud banging music, clean & tidy the staff are there to please you & they certainly do that above and beyond that actually. I went for the full English breakfast. I’ve seen reviews on this restaurant & people saying it’s well overpriced, listen there’s a saying in life, you pay for what you get, and at Bluebird’s you certainly get that, the food is absolutely scrumptious, when my breakfast came out it looked amazing. The sausage’s are banging, poached eggs were cooked to perfection. The pot of tea get’s you 6 cups & in fine bone china. I will certainly recommend this establishment to one & all, in fact I’m going back tomorrow with the wife, it’s now going to be my local for breakfast. Bravo Ladies & Chef for an amazing experience, keep up the outstanding service you provide for the community. Joe

It's a wonderful cafe with fantastic people running it. It gives you the atmosphere and feel of an old greasy spoon cafe where even if you are a stranger, you are made to feel welcome. The young lad that seated and greeted us was welcoming, polite, and very, very helpful. Really made sure that you got what you ordered and asked what combos you wanted, how you wanted it cooked. We met what I took were the owners, and it was like meeting an old friend, smiles, and a warm welcome. The food was great, cooked perfectly and to order. Nicely presented and with that all important smile. The bacon was to die for, and the milkshake was smooth and thick enough for me. There is plenty of seating and very comfy. Outside seating as well.

Although it doesn't look very big from the outside, it's actually very spacious inside with lots of seating. We had breakfast in here and the menu choices are pretty good. I really enjoyed my pancake stack with maple syrup and bacon. We also had a decent size pot of tea between the 2 of us. I would recommend this place.

The lovely smiling friendly staff that are ready to serve, makes this place a 5 star...but I will also give 5 stars for the well presented and tasty food that is served. I would suggest anyone that has not eaten here, you will not be disappointed. The adjacent car park, makes it easy to park and walk to and inside there are plenty of tables and chairs to chose from. I feel so lucky to have discovered this cafe. It needs customers to ensure it can survive in this competitive business, so please pop in and enjoy lovely food and drink at affordable prices. ( I am not related). I'm glad I did.
